在上述国际教育会议上,Som Naidu博士(斐济南太平洋大学副校长/灵活学习中心主任)也发表了主旨演讲,他阐述了主题。
他阐述道:"当代形势下的教育混乱中的灵活学习--未来之路"。因此,在COVID-19的背景下,一些国家已经在其教育系统中采用了各种灵活的教学方法。
他强调,"灵活学习是一套教育方法和系统,涉及为学习者提供更多的选择、便利和个性化,以满足他们的需求。
特别是,灵活的学习为学习者提供了关于学习地点、时间和方式的选择,通过使用一系列技术来支持教学过程"。

此外,Shauli Mukherjee博士(Adamas世界学校和STEM世界学校的创始人/校长,印度加尔各答)和Jyothi Ramachandran博士(前CBSE校长和获奖者,印度马哈拉施特拉邦)的讨论侧重于在线教育作为灵活学习的主要方法之一。
对他们来说,在线学习作为远程教育的一个分支,在线学习一直关注的是通过利用不同类型的技术,提供至少在时间和空间上比学校教育更灵活的教育体验。
他们重申,由于COVID-19的流行,教育工作者和教育领导者正在进入未知的领域,以寻找解决方案,保证学习的连续性。

SPUP PRESIDENT, IRO DIRECTOR FETED IN GLOBAL EDUCATION SUMMIT AND AWARDS 2021

Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President) and Dr. Jeremy Godofredo Morales (Director, International Relations) were among the awardees in the 2021 Global Education Summit and Awards. Organized by the International Center for Excellence in Education (INCEED) and the Society for Perpetuation of Art, Culture and Education (SPACE), the summit was held virtually on June 6, 2021.

The awards were given in recognition of their exceptional contribution to various fields in education. SR. MERCEDITAS ANG, SPC was conferred “OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP AWARD” while, DR. JEREMY GODOFREDO MORALES was recognized as “OUTSTANDING LANGUAGE TEACHER OF THE YEAR”.
Sr. Merceditas and Dr. Morales joined the roster of honorees together with their fellow educator-awardees from over 20 countries, like India, Philippines, Malaysia, Fiji, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, Canada, and Pakistan.

The said international conference on education also featured the keynote address of Dr. Som Naidu, (Pro-Vice Chancellor/Director of the Center for Flexible Learning, The University of the South Pacific, Fiji), who expounded on the theme: ” Flexible Learning during Educational Disruption in the Contemporary Scenario – The Way Forward.” Accordingly, in the context of the of COVID-19, several countries have adopted various flexible teaching and learning approaches in their education systems. He stressed that, “flexible learning is a set of educational approaches and systems concerned with providing learners with increased choice, convenience, and personalization to suit their needs. In particular, flexible learning provides learners with choices about where, when, and how learning occurs, by using a range of technologies to support the teaching and learning process.”

Moreover, the discussions of Dr. Shauli Mukherjee (Founder/Principal of Adamas World School and STEM World School, Kolkota, India) and Dr. Jyothi Ramachandran (Former CBSE Principal & Awardee, Maharashtra, India) focused on online education as one of the main approaches in flexible learning. For them, online learning, as a subset of distance education, has always been concerned with providing access to educational experiences that are at least more flexible in time and in space than campus-based education by utilizing different types of technologies. They reiterated that because  of the COVID-19 pandemic, educators and educational leaders are entering uncharted territory to find solutions to assure the continuity of learning.
